Hi Krista,

My husband and I visited your home on the solar tour and we are in the process of designing our own home. I have a question about windows that I would love your perspective on, but I cannot find where I put your email address and I do not see it on your blog. If you could email me so I could email you back, that would be greatly appreciated. Hope all is well.

Great project good luck finishing off the final punch list items. I have a few questions. One why did you not go ICF above grade and have you seen the AMDECK Floor and Roof System. Much like the system you used only it requires less shoring during the pour is and is a modular unit. www.amvicsystem.com

Great project enjoy if I make to Cinncinatti I will stop in thanks

We did not go ICF all the way up for a few reasons. Because we are an educational model, we wanted to showcase as many different forms of sustainable construction techniques as possible - including Value Engineered stick framing techniques. Another reason is that I'm not a big fan of the thick window sills created by using ICF above-grade.

I selected the Nudura system based on the longer lengths available (less seams) and the fact that they can be folded down and then expanded on the jobsite. Each ICF builder has preferences, and after researching several options, we chose Nudura.

We selected Insul-deck because it was manufactured in Florence, KY - about 30 minutes from the jobsite (prior to their move to Georgia). Thanks!
